Africa Smart Cities & Townships Alliance (ASCA)

The Africa Smart Cities C Townships Alliance (ASCA) is a global public-private partnership dedicated to advancing comprehensive development projects across Africa. The ASCA fosters innovative growth in major cities and rural areas through collaboration, technology, and sustainable development strategies.

The ASCA was proposed by the World Smart Cities Forum (WSCF) as an extension of the Global TWIN CITIES Initiative (TCI). TCI, a collaborative smart city implementation platform, was launched among 25 global cities during the OXYGEN Summit in New York City in 2024. Five African cities—Casablanca, Dakar, Mombasa, Benguerir, and Konza Technopolis—are currently participating in the TCI.
